//Busy Being Crafty//

Hello Everyone!

I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever, and I apologize! I have been super busy, I didn’t forget about y’all 🙂

So much has been going on lately and I can’t wait to update you on everything. I was able to get a couple DIY projects done these past two weekends, which is a start, but there are still plenty more to get done.

The first project we (my mom & I) completed, were covering two chairs that we’re going to use in the living room of the new house. We aren’t sure if we’re going to be keeping them there, but we knew that we wanted to cover the seats with plain white fabric. Here are some pictures we took along the way:

Ta-Da! All done! We might paint the wood black, but that is something we can decide on later. These chairs are just going to be used next to a table for now, until we find another use for them.

The second project we completed were the curtains for my office in the new house. We had seen Pom-Pom curtains all over, but of course when we needed them they were no where to be found. We were frustrated that we couldn’t find them, so we decided to make them ourselves. With our ceilings being 9 ft, it’s hard to find curtains that are long enough. We found the white plain curtains at Ikea, and then a curtain at Tuesday Mornings that had the black Pom-Poms that we were looking for. We ended up removing the black Pom-Pom’s from the Tuesday Morning curtains and gluing them onto the white curtains, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out, heres some pictures:

Here is the glue we used, it dries clear, but takes a long time to dry (don’t mind my nails I hadn’t gotten them done yet in this picture) :

The third project we completed for the new house is our Welcome Sign! I just love these kind of signs to sit by the front door. I had been searching online to purchase one, but I couldn’t find any under $50.00. I found one that I really loved, but the shipping ended up being more than the sign itself! Once, I searched all over, I figured hmm…I can probably make this myself, and if I fail then I guess I will just buy it Ha-Ha. I am pretty happy with how it turned out! I still need to paint a seal on top but here are the pictures from the progress:

I can’t wait to prop this up next to our front door 🙂

Well, those are my three DIY projects for the time being. These three were pretty simple to do, and a great way to get my Crafty Kendal side started 🙂

I also want to give y’all an update on the house. Our dry wall is officially up!! I swear the workers are FAST, it was delivered on Monday and all done by Monday night, I couldn’t believe it. Most of the outside stone is done as well, they just have to finish above the garage, which should be done on Monday. Here are a few pictures I snapped of the drywall:

Left to Right: Kitchen, Family Room, Upstair Steps, and Solarium

Here is also a picture of the outside stone which is ALMOST done:

Where the green is, is where the stone still needs to go, so you can see there isn’t too much more to do.

I absolutely love the stone that we chose, it is the perfect blend of greys and beige, so we will be able to match so much with it. I feel like I am living in a dream, being able to build this beautiful house with my husband. I can’t wait to start our new journey here !

Phew–I am exhausted and I cannot believe that tomorrow is already Monday. Today we got to attend a fun and cute 1st birthday party for my friend Mary’s daughter Lily. We had a great time, and cannot believe how fast that year flew by.

Well, here’s to another week! I hope you all have a fabulous week.
